Collingwood Children's Farm
This project is a redesigned wayfinding system for Collingwood Children’s Farm in Melbourne, developed in response to the lack of a clear visitor map. Aimed primarily at children and families, the design features eight custom pictograms and a simplified map, all created using a consistent visual language based on circular shapes. The result is a playful, accessible, and visually cohesive navigation tool that enhances the visitor experience through engaging, child-friendly design.

Collingwood Children's Farm
This project reimagines the visitor experience at Collingwood Children’s Farm—a not-for-profit, inner-city farm located on Wurundjeri/Woiwurrung Country in Abbotsford, Melbourne. Inspired by personal childhood memories and a recent visit, I identified a need for a more effective navigational tool, especially for the farm’s primary audience: children and families.
Using a toolkit of circular shape segments—semi-circles, quarter-circles, and arcs—I created a cohesive set of eight pictograms representing key animals and landmarks around the farm. The design draws influence from Kasumasa Nagai’s stylized animal forms and emphasizes simplicity, abstraction, and approachability. Initially prototyped with paper cutouts and later developed in Illustrator, the map aims to serve both as a functional guide and a printed takeaway, enriching the experience of exploring the farm. The result is a vibrant, child-friendly map that turns wayfinding into a fun, engaging journey.
